She stands before you, an elf of advanced years. She is tall and slender, with long golden hair cascading down her back. She is dressed in simple robes, yet there is an air of authority about her. In her hands she holds a lute, and she regards you with a piercing gaze.

You know that she is a bard of some renown, and that she has traveled the world for many years. She has seen much and knows much, and you can sense the wisdom in her eyes. She begins to play her lute, and as she does, she starts to sing.

Her voice is clear and strong, and it carries across the room effortlessly. She sings of heroes and dragons, of battles won and lost. She sings of love and loss, of hope and despair. As she sings, you can feel the emotions welling up inside you.

Eventually she comes to the end of her song, and she looks at you once more. In that moment, you feel as though you have been transported to another world entirely.
