There’s something special about dungeons and dragons. It’s a game that takes you on an adventure, one in which you create your own character and play through a story. You’re the hero, fighting for good against evil, and it’s up to you to save the day. It’s exciting, it’s fun, and it’s a great way to spend time with friends.
I remember the first time I played dungeons and dragons. I was young, maybe 10 or 11 years old. My friend had been talking about it for weeks, telling me how amazing it was and how much fun we would have. Finally, I relented and agreed to give it a try. I created my character – an elf cleric named Luthien – and began my adventure.
I was hooked from the very beginning. I loved exploring the world of dungeons and dragons, meeting new people and monsters, and doing battle against evil forces. I quickly became attached to my character, rooting for her as she fought her way through danger after danger. We had many adventures together, and each one was more exciting than the last.
Eventually, I out grew Dungeons and Dragons (or rather, my friends did – we all went our separate ways), but the memories of those early days remain with me still. Whenever I see someone playing now – whether it’s at a convention or online – I can’t help but feel a twinge of nostalgia for those simpler times.
